Jayne L. Newmark, MS, RDN
Jayne L. Newmark MS, RDN, is a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist certified by the National Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics. She has practiced for many years in the nutrition field with emphasis on diabetes, weight control, kidney disease, digestive health (including gluten free and low FODMAP diets), cardiovascular disease, healthy eating for children and more.
Career
As Director of Nutrition Services at the Arizona Heart Institute, Jayne wrote “Food for Health,” a comprehensive diet guide-book and created “Heart Healthy Lessons for Children,” a nutrition education program that was implemented by schools around the United States. Jayne also developed the nutrition components for the cardiovascular rehabilitation, adult fitness, weight management and cardiac transplant programs in addition to doing the routine nutritional counseling of cardiovascular, diabetic and overweight patients. Later, she worked in a dialysis clinic helping patients understand and comply with renal diets. Jayne developed and implemented the nutrition program at the Centre for Well-Being at the Phoenician Resort and Spa and worked at Native American Community Health as a WIC program director.
Media
As a Media Spokesperson for the National Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics, The Arizona Department of Health Services , The Arizona Department of Agriculture and Pritikin Systems, Inc., Jayne has done extensive media work including a satellite media tour and numerous television, radio, newspaper and magazine interviews focusing on nutrition and health. Jayne also has written several professional and lay publications on various topics in the dietary arena.
Public Speaking
An experienced public speaker, Jayne has given presentations nationally and internationally for Young Presidents’ Organization, Royal Cruise Line, Holland America Cruise Line as well as numerous corporations including The Phoenician Resort, Motorola, The National Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics, The Dial Corporation, Proctor & Gamble, Several State Dietetic Associations, The American Heart Association (Arizona Affiliate) and others.
